A networking event with food for thought

Forget stuffy presentations. Our latest business networking session was a proper conversation. AI took centre stage, but it wasn’t about robots taking over the world. Not this time. Today's informal presentation was delivered by Janos Antal from Addmonte Web Development.

Members dived straight in. AI isn’t just for techies anymore; it’s changing the way all of us search, solve problems, and - occasionally - scratch our heads in disbelief. Whether you’re running a local bakery or advising clients, knowing how to ask the right questions is now a must-have skill.

Would you say your thinking changes when you search with AI?

Searching smarter, staying sharp

Something interesting came up. Using AI to search feels different, doesn’t it? The answers are often detailed and confident - sometimes too confident, almost like a know-it-all at the pub. But behind those clever responses, it’s still just lines of code and statistics.
Still, asking better questions (or “prompt engineering” as the clever folk call it) isn’t as intimidating as it sounds. It’s a bit like fine-tuning your cooking: the more precise you are, the better your supper is. And sometimes, the answers AI gives can spark a whole new way of looking at things - even if it does get a few bits and bobs wrong along the way.
Curious? You’re not the only one.

Why adaptability beats standing still

The biggest risk isn’t AI itself. It’s ignoring it. The world is changing, and businesses that refuse to adapt risk being left behind. Customers expect quick answers. Competitors are picking up new tricks. Those who adapt and experiment will be miles ahead of the pack.
Yet nobody left this session thinking they had to become an AI expert overnight. Instead, the group agreed: start small, share your findings, and keep your mind open. If you trip up, well - at least you’re learning.

A networking mindset for the AI age

Perhaps the most powerful lesson was this: adapting to AI is a bit like good networking. It’s about asking smart questions, sharing knowledge, and cheering each other on. Not a solo journey, but something better tackled together.
