Personal introduction:My name is Tim Strutz - Learning for Life Manager for Whispering Trees CIC, one of the two charitable organisations that Carrots business networking support. Having had an extensive sales and marketing career in industry with some large multinational corporations including, Daimler Chrysler group, Tyco group and RBS group I decided that I needed a complete change in direction. This led to me co-founding a charitable organisation working with NEET teenagers and vulnerable adults. This work took me into special education and I spent four years in a special therapeutic school. When my old head set up an amazing project called Whispering Trees. I couldn’t wait to join the team and look to put all of my professional experience into practice in this amazing setting. I now have the joy of working with all ages of people form different walks of life, alongside a talented bunch of therapists and educators, helping them understand, improve and strengthen their mental health and wellbeing.
Whispering Trees CIC
(Therapeutic care - Mental health and wellbeing)
Whispering Trees CIC is a not-for-profit organisation offering therapeutic services. The focus is on promoting mental health and wellbeing through making positive connections with nature, plants, animals, self and other people. The disabled friendly setting is conducive to these aims in that it consists of a semi-rural, 4 acre site with a 5- roomed log cabin, polytunnels and other temporary farm structures. Whispering Trees is home to small animals, goats and miniature horses. The staff are all highly trained and experienced professionals and, between them they have expertise in the areas of therapeutic care, special education, therapeutic groupwork, animal-assisted therapeutic interventions, occupational therapy, social and therapeutic horticulture, holistic therapies and integrative psychotherapy.
